Congressman Troy A. Carter, representing Louisiana’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed several issues through a series of tweets. Carter, who succeeded Cedric Richmond in 2021, is actively involved in legislative matters and community representation.

On December 12, 2024, Congressman Carter highlighted the need for Congressional action on disaster relief funding. He stated: "Millions of Americans need Congress to act on #DisasterRelief funding. I proudly led a letter with @RepMoskowitz to @SpeakerJohnson, @RepJeffries, and House #Appropriations Committee leaders urging the swift passage of @POTUS’ recent disaster supplemental appropriations request."

The following day, December 13, 2024, he expressed his support for marriage equality legislation by celebrating the second anniversary of the Respect for Marriage Act's signing. Carter remarked: "Today, I join my @EqualityCaucus colleagues in celebrating 2 years since @POTUS signed the #RespectForMarriageAct. I'm proud to have cosponsored and voted for this bill that ensures federal law includes critical protections for same-sex & interracial couples."

Later on December 13, 2024, Congressman Carter announced his new role within a significant Democratic caucus committee in the U.S. House of Representatives with a brief statement: "New Orleans Rep. Troy Carter joins influential US House Democratic caucus committee."
