Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of an unidentified adult female. The offense occurred at approximately 3:26 p.m., in the 100 block of Exchange Place.
Eighth District officers responded to a shooting and upon their arrival, found the victim shot lying in the street.
Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where she died.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim and conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause death.
Currently, investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) involved in this incident, as well as a motive.
