U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that three residents of Thibodaux, Louisiana, have been indicted on federal drug and firearm charges. Earl Henry Jr., Roy Robinson, and Tammy Thompson were charged on October 4, 2024, with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and other related offenses.
The indictment alleges that Henry and Robinson conspired to possess and distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine. They are also accused of possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. Additionally, Henry faces charges for possessing firearms after previous felony convictions.
Law enforcement observed Henry purchasing narcotics from Robinson in a parking lot. A search of Robinson's vehicle and Henry's residence uncovered multiple firearms, a large sum of U.S. currency, and over 7,000 grams of methamphetamine. Thompson was reportedly seen trying to move the methamphetamine as officers arrived to execute search warrants.
If convicted on Counts 1 or 2, each defendant faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and could face life imprisonment, along with fines up to $10 million and at least five years of supervised release. For Count 3, Henry and Robinson could receive an additional five years to life in prison plus fines up to $250,000. Count 4 carries a potential sentence for Henry of up to fifteen years in prison.
U.S. Attorney Evans emphasized that an indictment is merely an accusation and guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations through a coordinated multi-agency approach.
The prosecution falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which seeks to reduce violent crime by fostering community trust and setting strategic enforcement priorities.
Evans commended the efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration, Louisiana State Police, Thibodaux Police Department, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Stuart Theriot leading the prosecution.
