Congressman Troy A. Carter, representing Louisiana's 2nd district, has been active on social media sharing his legislative efforts and personal congratulations. Carter, who has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Cedric Richmond, continues to advocate for changes in social security and acknowledges contributions within his community.

On December 12, 2024, Congressman Carter expressed his support for the Social Security Fairness Act. He stated: "I proudly cosponsored and voted for the #SocialSecurityFairness act to pass the on the House Floor, and am thrilled that it will now receive a vote in the Senate. #WEP & #GPO are harmful provisions that slash public servant’s Social Security benefits and it is time to repeal…" This act addresses provisions that affect public servants' benefits.

Later on December 12, Congressman Carter congratulated Mark Romig on his new role as Senior Advisor at New Orleans & Company. He remarked: "Congratulations to my dear friend @MarkRomig on his transition to Senior Advisor at @neworleansandco! Mark has dedicated over four decades to serving the tourism industry in #LA02 and will continue to make an impact in his new role." Romig's longstanding service in tourism was highlighted by Carter as impactful.
