On February 17, 2025, Congressman Carter expressed strong criticism toward Elon Musk and President Biden's administration through a tweet, stating that they are "wreaking havoc on our nation" and endangering "national security, FEMA, federal workers, and more." He accused Musk of treating the economy irresponsibly while highlighting the risks to real lives involved.
