Congressman Troy A. Carter, representing Louisiana’s 2nd district, has expressed concerns through a series of tweets regarding the current administration's policies under Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Serving in the U.S. Congress since 2021, Carter has been vocal about various governmental issues including social security, environmental justice, and economic strategies.

On April 2, 2025, Carter criticized the administration for alleged overspending on travel. He stated, "The Musk/Trump Admin spends $800K a WEEK flying to Florida—while trying to gut Social Security for poor & working-class Americans. Abuse of power. Betrayal of trust. Where’s the outrage?" using hashtags like #WastefulSpending and #ProtectSocialSecurity.

Later the same day, Carter addressed an environmental decision by the administration. Concluding his remarks on April 2, 2025, Carter commented on the administration's economic strategies. He described the tariffs as detrimental, declaring, "The last thing Americans need is more economic uncertainty. This isn’t a targeted tariff, it’s a reckless “shoot-first, aim-later” approach that embarrasses the U.S. on the world stage while the American people foot the bill and suffer. Ridiculous."
