Outreach Tulane, the university’s largest and longest running student-led community service event, took place on Saturday, Aug. 27, across the New Orleans area. The event, facilitated by the Tulane Center for Public Service and the Community Action Council of Tulane University Students (CACTUS), included more than 500 Tulanian volunteers who assisted 28 community partners.
The event, in its 32nd year, is an annual Tulane tradition that upholds the university’s motto: “Non sibi, sed suis,” meaning “Not for one’s self, but for one’s own.”
“Kicking off the year with a large-scale service event encourages Tulanians to continue their commitment to community service. Outreach Tulane this year was a huge success thanks to everyone who came together for a great Tulane tradition!” said Bridget Lindgren, student and Outreach Tulane chair.
