17 percent of applicants to Tulane University of Louisiana were admitted for fall 2018

At Tulane University of Louisiana, 90 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 59 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in New Orleans enrolled 12,646 students in fall 2018, including 7,920 in undergraduate and 4,726 in graduate programs, data shows. 1.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

10 percent of undergraduates are residents of Louisiana, and 85 percent are residents of other states. 5 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (69 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (8 percent).

The school admitted 17 percent of the 38,816 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 28 percent enrolled.
