Cost of college went up for all students at Tulane University of Louisiana

Tuition and fees rose 3.5 percent for 2018-19 at Tulane University of Louisiana, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Louisiana students paid $54,820 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,860 more than the $52,960 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 80 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,467 students received grants or scholarships totaling $46.7 million and 534 students took out student loans totaling more than $5.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (12,646), 5,778 students used grants or scholarships totaling $175.5 million, and 2,354 students took out $19.4 million in federal student loans.
