638 students were enrolled for 9th grade in St. Bernard Parish schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 638 ninth grade students enrolled in St. Bernard Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 8.5% more than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Chalmette High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within St. Bernard Parish schools, the most students were found in ninth grade classes, while 11th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, St. Bernard Parish ranked 23rd highest in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 24th highest the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
