58 percent of applicants to Xavier University of Louisiana were admitted for fall 2018

At Xavier University of Louisiana, 97 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 75 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in New Orleans enrolled 3,231 students in fall 2018, including 2,478 in undergraduate and 753 in graduate programs, data shows. 2.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

37 percent of undergraduates are residents of Louisiana, and 61 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (79 percent) and Asian (6 percent).

The school admitted 58 percent of the 8,352 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 18 percent enrolled.
