Theatre UNO in the School of the Arts will open the 2022-23 season on Sept. 23 with Becky Mode’s comedy “Fully Committed.”
The one-act production, directed by UNO graduate student Bill Ware, follows a day in the life of Sam Peliczowski, an out-of-work actor who mans the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan’s number-one restaurant. A cast of desperate callers, armed with coercion, threats, bribes and histrionics, will stop at nothing in their zeal to land a prime reservation or the right table.
Amid the barrage of calls, Peliczowski, played by UNO graduate student Andrew Stroud, must juggle his own needs, including the demands of his recently widowed dad and trying to preparing for a choice part at Lincoln Center—while contending with scheming socialites, name-dropping wannabes, fickle celebrities and egomaniacal bosses.
The performances will be held in the Lab Theater at The Performing Arts Center on UNO’s campus through Oct. 1.
