(NEW ORLEANS – October 26, 2022) The Dean of Loyola University New Orleans College of Nursing and Health and members of Loyola nursing faculty have been named to the 2022 “Great Nurses of Louisiana” list complied annually by The Great 100 Nurses Foundation.
Since its founding 36 years ago, The Great 100 Nurses Foundation has honored thousands of nurses across Louisiana, North Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Nurses were selected for the 2022 list based on their concern for humanity, contributions to the profession of nursing, and their mentoring of others.
“The Great 100 Nurses Foundation selects nurses based on their concern for humanity, their contributions to the profession, and their mentoring of others,” said Cherie Burke, director of the School of Nursing. “It is a great honor for the Honoree and we at the School of Nursing are so proud to have three members of our faculty selected.”
Honorees from Loyola include:
Michelle R. Collins, Dean of the College of Nursing and Health, is a certified midwife who keeps up her practice “catching babies” at Ochsner Baptist – A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center.
Dr. Melissa LeBrun, Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program in the Loyola School of Nursing.
Ms. Ashley Terrebonne, Director of Loyola’s new ABSN Program, an accelerated Bachelor of Science of Nursing degree program aimed at college graduates hoping to change careers.
